  • How do governments, banks, companies, currencies and households function? Do they act independently of one another or do they influence one another? Who decides on the distribution of scarce resources? When you look for an answer to these questions, you soon realize that the decisions of one economic subject (government, bank, company or household) depends on the decisions of another.

    Are you interested in these connections? Would you like to gain insight into the many aspects of the economy? Are you confident in mathematics?

  • On the one hand, economics studies how individual actors, such as companies, consumers, and employees interact on markets. The objective is to understand and analyze the complex interactions, events, and results of market activities in complex modern societies from the perspective of a basic understanding of individual behavior. 
  • The second area of economics has to do with the activities of the state in economic and social policy. The main area of interest here is the problems that are (or can be) solved by the actors involved collectively within the context of societal institutions.

    Please note: University admission requirements may change up to the start of the application period.

    DSH (result 2 or 3) or TestDaF (with a score of at least 4 on all four parts of the test) or the Goethe-certificate C2 or the 2nd level language certificate from the Conference of the Ministry of Education and the Arts or Telc C1 Hochschule.
