The MPhil Globalization, Economics and Law focuses on themes of high economic and social relevance. It is secured by a qualified faculty, formed and developed within the extant academic and scientific paradigms.

It is a consistent and innovative MPhil by its multidisciplinary character. It is taught in conjunction with the University of Maribor (Slovenia) and benefits from the research carried out in the IJP Portucalense Institute for Legar Research, through its group "Capital, Labour, Tax and Trade".

Objectives and Programme Content

Students will develop knowledge and skills pertaining to the Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning (EQF) to enable them:

  • To acquire a systematic and overall understanding of the implications of globalization on economics, law and management, both in the theoretical and both in terms of public policies, institutions and enterprises.
  • To master the methodology, methods and techniques of the corresponding scientific areas.
  • To understand and critically analyze, evaluate and synthesize ideas and innovative and complex reasoning and conceive and design research projects in the realm of globalization.
  • To take palce in international and multicultural professional contexts, reaching high standards of performance.
