Student visa for Argentina

Here we throw light on the complete process and requirements for the study visa for Argentina:

  • To gain a student visa, International students will need to get a tourist visa to enter Argentina and replace it with a student visa. 
  • Apply and get approval for a tourist visa for Argentina. This visa will be valid for a maximum of 90 days. 
  • After entering Argentina on a tourist visa, you need to follow certain steps to replace your tourist visa to a student visa.
  • If your course in Argentina is for more than 6 months, you have to get a police certificate.
  • Make an appointment at the immigration office in Argentina.
  • After verification of your documents, the immigration officer will issue a “certificado de residencia precaria” (preliminary certificate of residence)
  • After 20 days, visit the immigration office to get your student visa document. You will need to show the residence certificate given to you.
  • After 6 months your student visa will expiry, you have to re-apply for the student visa.

Requirements for the whole process are:

  • A passport which is valid for at least more than six months after completion of the course. 
  • a letter showing proof of enrolment, 
  • their birth certificate, 
  • a visa processing fee of up to US$100. 
  • You will also need to gain 2 police certificates stating they have no criminal record – one from their home country, and another from Argentina.
