  • The combination of mechanical engineering with electronics, metrology, steering technology and control engineering has created entirely new products and processes. In today's increasingly globalized marketplace, graduates with a Master's in mechanical engineering have a global and wide-ranging choice of careers.
  • In the master’s degree in mechanical engineering, the knowledge acquired in the bachelor’s degree is expanded and deepened in such a way that the graduate is able to deal with complex engineering issues and, in particular, to work independently.
  • The first two semesters are used for in-depth training in the various areas of specialization in mechanical engineering (see subject combinations). The third semester is primarily available for writing the master's thesis.

    Focus
    Different focuses can be chosen:
  • General Engineering
  • Energy and Process Engineering
  • Product engineering
  • Ship and offshore technology
  • Mechatronics
  • Foundry technology
  • Metal processing and application.
  • Exams / ECTS credits

The master's degree comprises 90 credits. Of these, 60 credits are allocated to the subjects of the compulsory and compulsory elective areas examined during the course  and 30 to the master’s thesis that concludes the course (processing time: 6 months).

The course-related exams can be repeated twice. The master's thesis can only be repeated once.
